Welcome to bioXref, the web site that enables you to find biographical information on all sorts of famous people, past and present.

It's very easy to use: you can either search for a specific person by entering their name (or part of it) in the search box in the top right corner; or you can browse through the index in various ways using the buttons in the panel above. For example, to look in the index at people whose last name starts with "G", click the "last names" radio button followed by the "G" button.

When you see a name that interests you, just click on it to see that person's page. There'll be a brief description, together with one or more links that you can follow for further information. We also list biographies of each person, as well as other products of interest such as novels in which the person appears, films about their life, etc.

We're adding new people all the time, so don't be disappointed if you can't find someone. In fact, we look at all the searches that are done to help us decide who needs to be added to our database.
